Managed Backup and Recovery Services

Protect business data. Plan for recovery.

ServiceJi sets up and manages backup protection for agreed computers, servers and cloud business data. Our service combines configuration, backup checks, investigation of failures and recovery assistance, so responsibility for protecting your information is clear.

We work from the information your business needs to recover: a deleted document, a former employee’s mailbox, a damaged computer or a more substantial system failure. That determines what must be captured, how often it should be backed up and how long recovery points should remain available.

Coverage can include Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, supported endpoints, servers and other workloads. We assess the selected products and your environment before confirming exactly what the service protects.

Backup protection across your business

Computer and laptop backup

Protect agreed files, folders or supported systems on business endpoints. We confirm operating-system support, data selection, device availability and the recovery options you need.

Server and application backup

Plan protection for supported servers and workloads around business dependencies, data volumes and restoration requirements. Application-aware backup and full-system recovery are included where specified and supported.

Microsoft 365 backup

Configure protection for agreed supported services, such as Exchange Online, OneDrive and SharePoint. Teams coverage depends on the selected product and data type and is checked before rollout.

Google Workspace backup

Protect agreed supported business data such as Gmail and Google Drive. We confirm coverage for shared data, user accounts and other required services with the selected backup product.

Other cloud and business data

Review additional platforms, databases and cloud workloads and identify a suitable supported protection approach. The service scope records what is protected and any exclusions.

What makes it a managed backup service

Installing backup software is the start. We configure the agreed jobs, check initial backups, review available results and alerts, investigate failed jobs and perform agreed restore tests. We keep a record of exceptions and decisions that require your attention.

Your team does not need to check each backup dashboard. Our service agreement defines which systems we monitor, staffed response hours, escalation arrangements and recovery assistance.

Start with the recovery you need

Everyday file and email recovery

Accidental deletion, an overwritten document or a missing mailbox item usually calls for a targeted restore. We agree how requests are authorised and whether recovered information should return to its original location or an alternative destination to avoid overwriting current work.

Device or server failure

Recovering files is different from rebuilding a working computer or server. Applications, configuration, licences and replacement hardware may also be needed. We identify whether the requirement is file recovery, full-system recovery or a wider rebuild, and scope the supporting work accordingly.

Disruption affecting several systems

A serious incident can affect identity services, connectivity and the systems needed to perform the restore itself. Where broader recovery planning is required, we identify dependencies and the order in which services need to return. Backup is one part of that plan.

Backup monitoring and restore testing

A successful installation does not show that every future backup will complete. Devices can go offline, permissions can change, data volumes can grow and a workload can fall outside a job’s selection. We review the available results and investigate the exceptions covered by your service.

Restore testing checks more than whether a dashboard displays a successful job. An agreed test can confirm that selected data is present, accessible and recoverable to a suitable destination. For application or system recovery, testing may also need to demonstrate that the restored workload can operate.

We agree the test scope and frequency, record the result and flag gaps that need attention. Sample restores provide evidence about the items tested; they do not replace a full recovery exercise where business continuity depends on several connected systems.

Agree recovery needs before choosing retention

We establish how much recent work the business could afford to lose and how quickly the priority systems need to return. These requirements guide backup frequency, recovery planning and any separately agreed recovery targets.

Retention is the history available for recovery. A short-term recovery need and a long-term archive requirement may call for different policies. We agree retention by workload and confirm how older recovery points are consolidated, how departed users are treated and what happens when a subscription ends.

Storage locations security and access

Cloud, local or combined backup arrangements can be assessed against your operational and data-protection requirements. We agree storage regions, access permissions, encryption options and supplier arrangements before implementation. Remote support access and storage location are documented separately.

We also assess available protections against unwanted deletion or alteration, such as immutable storage where supported. Product capabilities and licence requirements are verified before they become part of your service.

Recovery and handover

When recovery is required, we identify suitable retained recovery points, agree the destination and perform the supported restore. Availability depends on successful backups, retention, connectivity, data volume and the selected system. A backup service does not guarantee recovery of information that was never captured.

If you change provider or end the service, we plan exports and administration handover before cancelling required subscriptions. Charges and supplier commitments during that transition are made clear.

Onboarding your backup service

We begin with an inventory of the data and systems to protect, existing backup arrangements and the people authorised to request recovery. We check product support, access requirements, storage location, retention and any limitations that affect your desired outcome.

After configuration, the first backups are checked and an agreed restore is tested. Large initial data transfers or devices with intermittent connectivity may take longer to establish protection. Any workloads still awaiting a successful first backup remain visible as outstanding items.

As the environment changes, new accounts, shared workspaces, servers or folders may need to be added. We agree how those changes reach us so the protection scope stays aligned with the business.

What determines managed backup pricing?

Costs depend on protected users and workloads, storage volumes, retention, backup frequency, the selected products and the level of monitoring and recovery support. A long retention requirement or full-system recovery can change the design as well as the price.

Our proposal identifies implementation charges, recurring management and software costs, and any separate recovery project work. We also confirm supplier commitments and how archived or departed-user data affects the subscription.

To start, tell us which systems hold your important data, roughly how many users or devices need protection and what you would need to recover first. We can help define the backup and recovery scope from there.

Questions about managed backup and recovery

We assess native retention and recovery features against your requirements for accidental deletion, account changes, recovery history and independent copies. Where those features do not meet your needs, an additional backup service can provide the agreed protection.

There is no single retention period for every customer. We agree periods for each workload and confirm the supported policy, licence cost and treatment of older recovery points before setup.

UK or EU storage can be specified as a requirement. We verify the chosen service and configuration and document the approved region before activation.

Backup provides recovery copies. Restoring an entire operating environment can also require infrastructure, dependencies and a tested recovery plan. We define any disaster-recovery scope and targets separately.
